A star right from her childhood, she has won several awards along with being the youngest nominee for a Screen Actors Guild Award. Steeping out from the "teenager" stamp, this young lady, Hannah Dakota Fanning, has her birthday today!

Born in Conyers, Georgia as Hannah Dakota Fanning, she is better known in the film industry as Dakota Fanning. Fanning began acting at the age of five after appearing on a Tide commercial. Her first significant acting job was a guest role in the NBC prime-time drama ER, which remains one of her favorite roles. Fanning subsequently had several guest roles on established television series, including CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, The Practice, and Spin City. She also portrayed the title characters of Ally McBeal and The Ellen Show as young girls. In 2001, Fanning was chosen to star opposite Sean Penn in the movie I Am Sam, the story of a mentally challenged man who fights for the custody of his daughter. This role established young Dakota Fanning as a budding actor with much calibre. This role also made her the youngest person to be ever nominated for a Screen Actors Guild Award. 

She went on to act in several films like Taken, Trapped, a younger version of Reese Witherspoon in Sweet Home Alabama and as Katie in the movie Hansel and Gretel. Fanning also played Jane, a member of the Volturi Guard, in New Moon and reprised the role in Eclipse, based on novels by Stephenie Meyer. She will be seen in the The Twilight Saga: Breaking Down Part 2 as well, the final part in the series.
