Renee Zellweger who gained widespread attention through her character in Jerry Maguire celebrates her birthday today. The actress who was born on 25th April 1969 as a US-Swiss-Norwegian also gained her appreciation for her role as Bridget Jones, opposite Hugh Grant, in Bridget Jones's Diary. The movie gave her first Academy Award Best Actress Nomination. 

Renee received the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her movie, Cold Mountain, in 2004. She was cast opposite Jude Law and Nicole Kidman. Renee has also lent her voice for animation films like Shark Tale and Bee Movie.

Renee received her second Academy Award Best Actress Nomination for the Musical film, Chicago. Though not trained in dance, she portrayed her best singing and dancing performances in the movie. 

The actress also took up the role of a producer for the movies, Miss Potter and Living Proof.

After the sequel of Bridget Jones’s Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, Reene is now to act in the third part of the Bridget Jones series.
