Sameera Reddy "The Musafir Girl" will be celebrating her 29th Birthday today.

Sameera Reddy was born on December 14, 1982 in Rajamundry, Andhra Pradesh into a Telugu family. Her father Chintapoli (C. P.) Reddy is a businessman,while her mother Nakshatra, a Goud Saraswat Brahmin,was a microbiologist and worked with an NGO.She has two siblings, Meghna Reddy, a former VJ and supermodel,and Sushma Reddy, herself a Bollywood actress and model,both elder to her.She did her schooling at Bombay Scottish School in Mahim, Mumbai and graduated from Sydenham College.

ameera Reddy first came to notice in the music video 'Ahista' by Pankaj Udhaas and then start modelling. She has done modelling for 'Lissome'.

Presently she has left modelling completely and is concentrating on acting.

Sameera Reddy has primarily worked in the Hindi film industry and Tamil industry. Apart from Bollywood, Sameera has also appeared in a number of Telugu, Bengali and Malayalam films. She made her debut in the Bollywood with the Hindi film 'Maine Dil Tujhko Diya' in 2002. She has also acted in Saif Ali Khan-Bipasha Basu starrer film 'Race', in which she had a supporting role. Her film "Musafir" was a box-office hit and all the songs picturised on her went on to became chartbusters and made a glam-doll overnight.  The only critically acclaimed film she has to her credit is her debut Tamil film 'Vaaranam Aayiram' directed by Gautham Menon, opposite Surya Sivakumar, which was a blockbuster. Reddy’s acting and modest portrayal of a confident and down-to-earth girl Meghna earned her rave reviews.

 Her performance fetched her a nomination for the Vijay award for Best Debut actress. She also starred in the lead role in Gautham Menon's psychological thriller 'Nadunissi Naaygal',  In late 2011, she starred in the Tamil movie 'Vedi' opposite Vishal.
