Hayley Atwell: Captain America garb was genius

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Hayley Atwell says her Captain America: The First Avenger outfits were a "stroke of luck and genius" by the film's costume designer.

The British actress stars as Peggy Carter in the upcoming comic book adaptation alongside Chris Evans.

The 29-year-old beauty says the 40s-style garb she donned in the film was a credit to the designer, who envisioned a "passionate" array of costumes.

"It was cut for women, the hourglass very feminine. That was a stroke of luck and genius by Anna Sheppard, she had seen all the costumes, all olive green. It was fabulous, but beautiful," she explained in an interview with Screen Cave.

"And she said [evokes a fashionista accent] I think there should be a splash of colour. She's the love, where's the passion?' So she created this beautiful dress that just meant that Peggy had her moment, and there's a bit of desire in there, I suppose."

Hayley says her costumes in the film are a great example of how a woman should dress because they highlight the female form to perfection.

Hayley, who plays the love interest of Captain America in the film, says her on screen attire perfectly complimented her curves.

"Fabulous," she replied when asked how she felt in the costumes. "It's clothes for women, it's great. What I liked about all her costumes is that they're strong but feminine at the same time." (C) Cover Media
