Filmmaker Vetrimaaran made his directorial debut with the movie 'Polladhavan'. The director later joined hands with Dhanush for the second time for the movie 'Aadukalam'. The film was produced by Sun Pictures and won critical acclaims for the performance and technical aspects of the movie. The film has won 6 National awards including Best Direction, Best Screenplay, Best Actor, Best Choreography, Best Editing and Best Jury Award.

  Vetrimaaran organized a small gathering for the journalists, thanking them for their support. Says Vetrimaaran: "I am happy that I won National awards, but according to me, the real success goes with box-office collections and the producers, distributors and exhibitors must benefit from it."

  When asked about his next project, Vetrimaaran said that the script work is going on and confirmations would be made shortly. \
