For the past couple of days, Tamil Nadu has been brimming with lots of hot topics. While Chennai Super Kings is rocking in the IPL season, the political arena has been having its share as well. Amidst such issues, 13 Tamil films won National awards, competing for the headlines.  

Right from yesterday, the National award winners have continuously been meeting the journalists and have been giving their interviews. Saranya Ponvannan won The Best Female Actress for her performance in 'Thenmerku Paruva Katru'. The actress said, "I had a wrong assumption that if one has to win National awards, they must have lots of influence within the committee but then, I was proved wrong and I am really thankful to the committee members for having granted me the awards."
