December 30, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Hollywood production Inception stood out among all other movies released during this year at the 2010 Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards. The Leonardo DiCaprio starrer has won both critical acclamation and commercial success at the US box office after it hit theaters in the month of July this year. The science fiction thriller Inception received nominations in several categories at this years Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards and picked up awards for the best director, best editing, best original music score and best screenplay.
Christopher Nolan was a happy man as he walked home with the trophy of the best director for Inception. However, the films team was disappointed when the award for the best film did not end up in their hands. The best picture award was given to The Kings Speech, the film also given Colin Firth a prize for the best actor. Among the other films which were rewarded at the 2010 Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards were Alice In Wonderland, The Social Network, Black Swan and Toy Story 3.
However it was Inception which emerged the winner in the list of films which reached the final round of nominations in the Phoenix Film Critics Society Awards. Inception is a psychological thriller which revolves around a specialized spy or thief played by Leonardo DiCaprio who has the unique ability to delve into the subconscious minds of people by entering in their dreams.
