Ever since the film
'Roy' has been announced, there has been a lot of confusion over the significance of each role in the film.
While
Arjun Rampal and
Jacqueline Fernandez have been announced to play the lead, it was later reported that
Ranbir Kapoor has been signed to play a brief cameo in the film. And now it seems that Ranbir's star status has started to rub its magic on the film.
Film's director
Vikramjit Singh who debuts with this film apparently has reworked on the script to strengthen Ranbir's role.
The role which was earlier supposed to be just a cameo has now been developed for a meatier portion.
Despite of the role's development, there is still confusion about the role's capacity.
"It's is not my film. I play a supporting character, and the lead actors are Arjun and Jacqueline," said Ranbir.
However, the director has something else to say. "I have always maintained that Ranbir has got a very important role. In fact, he plays the title character. It is certainly not a special appearance. Both, Ranbir and Arjun share equal space," said Singh.
Given the situation, Arjun who was the solo lead is apparently upset with Ranbir getting a meatier portion.
However he refutes the rumors of being upset, stating, "I love the script and my part and am super excited to start shooting," Arjun said.
