Mahesh Bhatt to make his acting debut as a monk

Mahesh Bhatt has played multiple roles in his life till date. Director, Producer, Distributor and writer, Mahesh has donned several hats in his career span. But the latest addition to his profile is that of a full-fledged actor.
The filmmaker will be seen playing a significant role in an upcoming film.
While Mahesh has done cameos in several films, this is the first time that he is playing a character. He has been signed to play a bald Buddhist monk in debutante director
Mukul Misra's film titled
'Siddhartha' where
Shivam Bhargav plays the title role while
Shazahn Padamsee is his love interest.
The film will show Mahesh in a never seen before avatar. He plays the role of a Lama who believes that Buddha is in him and helps the protagonist to get the answers he was looking for.
Mahesh confirmed the news and expressed his excitement over the same stating, "It's true that I'm doing Siddhartha. I liked Mukul's narrative and his vision. Buddhism teaches you that everything is transient and I understand it. I think I can do justice to the role. I have met many lamas and had an intense interaction with the Dalai Lama. The story appealed to me and I could correlate with it because like the protagonist I too am always in the quest for answers to life," he said.
