(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jack White and Karen Elson are getting divorced and celebrating with a party.

The former White Stripes rocker and his model wife married on June 1 2005 and have children Scarlett, six, and three-year-old Henry Lee together. They have announced they are ending their marriage, but plan to remain close friends.

"Karen Elson and Jack White announce today that they are getting divorced. We remain dear and trusted friends and co-parents to our wonderful children Scarlett and Henry Lee. We feel so fortunate for the time we have shared and the time we will continue to spend both separately and together watching our children grow," they said in a statement.

"In honour of that time shared, we are throwing a divorce party."

The event will take place in Nashville tonight. The couple decided to throw a bash to celebrate their time together and to show other people they still get on well.

"An evening together in Nashville to re-affirm our friendship and celebrate the past and future with close friends and family," the statement added. "This is only for close personal friends and family. So please no plus ones or dead beats."

The party will include drinks and dancing, and will be decorated with mementos of the couple's time together. (C) Cover Media
