Singer Palak Muchhal stalked and threatened by a man

Bollywood singer Palak Muchhal who is famous for her songs 'Gori Tu Latth Maar', 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo' and 'Kaun Tujhe' on Wednesday registered a police complaint against a 30-year-old man for continuously stalking and harassing her.

A 30-year-old man, who claims to be a professor from Bihar, has been taken under the custody in the matter. In her complaint filed at Amboli police station, Muchhal mentions that she was receiving calls and messages from an unknown number. In the beginning, the caller said he was a huge fan of her and requested to meet her. She politely declined but the man allegedly persisted and continued to text and call. Initially, the singer decided to ignore him, but things took a violent turn when his messages got abusive and threatening.

A police officer stated, "An FIR under Section 354 (D) (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code was registered on Wednesday by the Amboli police and the accused was arrested." The accused has been identified as Rajesh Shukla, who claims to be a professor in his native Sasaram in Bihar. He was arrested from the vicinity of CSMT railway station. He had allegedly come to Mumbai two weeks ago to meet Muchhal. A police source says that he got Muchhal's number from a film directory, which reportedly also has contacts of other Bollywood personalities. The matter is being investigated.
