(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jada Pinkett Smith has splashed out a reported sum of nearly $10,000 on crystals.

The actress is said to love the beautiful stones, some of which are credited with healing powers.

The Hollywood star, who is married to actor Will Smith, has been stocking up on the semi-precious gems at West Hollywood store Crystalarium.

"She's bought quite a few items and even some books on the healing power of crystals," a source told American website Radaronline.com.

Jada is said to have been a customer at the new age shop for a long time.

Crystal healing has been used in many different cultures including ancient Egypt and the Hawaiian islanders.

While it is not known how Jada intends to use the stones, the healing powers of the crystals are normally used by placing them on the body to stimulate the patient's chakras, or by positioning the crystals around a space to create an energy field.

Each stone is credited with aiding different purposes, like clearing a house of negative energy or stimulating creativity and confidence. (C) Cover Media
