Jagathy Sreekumar Will Not Do Lottery Ads Anymore

2nd September 2010

September 2, 2010 (Sampurn Wire):Veteran Malayalam movie actor Jagathy Sreekumar is usually known for playing some jovial and comedy roles. The actor is also seen in various advertisements and he endorses several private lotteries. But now, the actor has announced that he would not take part in any lottery advertisements in future.

Recently, the state newspapers have been reporting about many scandals about the private lotteries. The rise of such scandal reporting may have affected the actor. Moreover, the state C M, V.S Achuthanandan had remarked that the celebrities should cross-check the credibility of the products they are endorsing. Jagathy has probably given a serious thought on the comment of CM and decided not to endorse any such private lotteries.

The veteran actor, who has acted in more than 1000 films, said that he was offered good amount of money to endorse the Sikkim and Bhutan Data lotteries, thus he went ahead with them. Jagathy added that he never thought it could mislead the people. He also assured that he would never endorse a product in future that is aimed to mislead people.

Nothing can be better than this; a senior actor like Jagathy has given such assurance, which will be in favour of the public. Hope other actors also realize their social responsibility and stay away from such endorsements!
