Jake Gyllenhaal considers his entire life "a blessing."

The 31-year-old actor has an illustrious film career and has just released critically acclaimed cop drama End of Watch.

Jake has a number of projects on the go at the moment and his agenda is booked for months in advance.

Although the star is incredibly busy and often sleep deprived, he enjoys every moment of his day.

"This is not tired. It's great. It's nice to be having a movie opening and a play opening. It's a blessing, not tiring," Jake told USA Today.

Jake's career is going in a very independent direction at the moment.

The thespian reveals why he's not really interested in filming blockbusters.

"I woke up and I said, 'I've had the privilege of being able to do this for 15 years.' I got so far away from the idea of acting as a real craft to master. I didn't want to skirt the surface in it. I wanted to learn about myself," Jake explained.

"I wanted to interact with people doing real stuff and have it enrich my life. I wanted to have my work enrich my life and have a life that I was proud of."
