(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jake Gyllenhaal initially didnt think his movie Source Code would be able to maintain the amount of tension that it does.

The 30-year-old US actor is currently promoting the science-fiction thriller, which recounts the story of a soldier who wakes up to find himself in the body of an unknown man.

Jake is immensely proud of the action-packed film and admits the first time he read the script in full it completely surpassed his expectations.

I actually put it down after I finished the first 15 pages and I was like, Its not gonna be as good as it started off, and then I finally picked it up and I kept reading and it was so good, he beamed in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

Source Code also stars Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga, with the former playing Jakes love interest. Stunning Michelle had a fantastic time making the movie, and especially appreciated her co-stars wacky personality.

He loves his job and I love my job and so we just enjoyed working with each other," she enthused.

In our downtime...hes got a great sense of humour, I like to laugh.

On a more serious note, Jake admitted that he is finding it hard to carry on with every day work commitments after seeing the devastating effects of the earthquake which hit Japan on March 11. The star has friends in the country, and has been shocked to witness the aftermath of the natural disaster.

I have friends who live in Japan, old family friends, he explained.

"It's a weird irony to be publicising a movie in the middle of a situation like this." (C) Cover Media
