(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jake Gyllenhaal regrets trying to show off on the set of his latest movie, as it resulted in a painful injury.

The star portrays Colter Stevens in Source Code, about a soldier who realises he must help uncover who bombed a train packed with commuters.

Source Code is a thriller which contains many action sequences and Jake was keen to get stuck in when it came to his stunts. One in particular caught his eye and he was so keen to show he was capable of pulling it off he refused to listen to the warnings of other people on set.

I had to do a jump off of a train, he is quoted as saying. I was like, 'Don't worry. I got it guys. I'm cool.' And then I injured myself. You see it in the movie when I jump off the train and then my legs go up and then I land on my shoulder. It was kind of an intense impact on my shoulder.

The 30-year-old was in a great deal of pain and has now decided to be less gung-ho when it comes to shooting stunts.

Jake knows a thing or two about hurting himself on set, as he suffered many problems while filming Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. He played Prince Dastan in the picture and was involved in several fight sequences. He decided it would look better if he filmed them himself, something he soon began to regret.

I pulled some shoulders and I strained some backs and I screwed up my ankle a few times but nothing to worry about, he said. (C) Cover Media
