(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted enjoying drinks with a mystery brunette over the weekend.

The 30-year-old hunk appeared to be thoroughly enjoying his evening out with the stunning woman at Henry Public in Cobble Hill, New York. The pair met at the bar at around 10.30pm on Saturday night and spent the night laughing and joking together.

"Gyllenhaal and the woman, who was in her mid-20s, had drinks at the bar," reports New York Daily News. "The pair weren't overly flirty, but an insider says they were deep in conversation."

Jake has been single since he enjoyed a brief romance with singing sensation Taylor Swift last year. He also previously dated Reese Witherspoon and Natalie Portman.

The actor recently admitted he finds it nerve-wracking to ask a woman out.

In his latest movie Source Code, Jake plays a soldier who has just minutes to stop a terrorist from blowing up a train and he has compared that situation to approaching someone he is attracted to.

"He's just a guy asking a girl out for coffee. He gets blown up a couple of times in the process. But that's what it feels like when you have to ask someone you're into out," he quipped. (C) Cover Media
