James Franco staging secret Oscars party

1st February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - James Franco is planning to hold a secret Oscars after-party at his new bar.

The 32-year-old actor and Anne Hathaway are presenting the upcoming Academy Awards later this month, and he has been nominated for the best actor prize for his performance in 127 Hours. He and Anne have spent hours rehearsing ahead of the prestigious ceremony, with James revealing they will be singing and dancing. James wants to let loose after the awards show and has revealed he is inviting a select number of guests to a top secret location on February 27.

"I'm a partner in a bar that's opening up, and the after-after-after-after-party is going to be at my new bar," the actor told People. "It's at a secret location. And that's what I'm looking forward to because I'm going to be singing there at the bar. I'll be singing at the Oscars, but there will be a private performance at my new bar.

"It's called the Writer's Room. It's in LA. That's all I can say because I can't fit everybody. Everybody at the Governors Ball will not fit into my new bar, but it'll be going down."

James has been working hard to learn the dance routines and songs for the Oscars. Even though he is totally committed to the event, he admits Anne is a more natural performer when it comes to musical numbers. However, he is doing his best to ensure he also impresses on the big night.

"The Oscars are a very well produced show and [there's] a big machine behind it, and I think Anne and I fit really well in it," he explained. "She probably fits better than I do, but I'm trying to catch up." (C) Cover Media
