Jane Fonda: Attitude combats ageing

11th August 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jane Fonda believes that the antidote to fleeting youth is all about "attitude".

The 73-year-old actress and model looks exceptional in her advanced years. Although she is a health and fitness guru in her own right, Jane believes that the secret to looking good in elderly years has more to do perspective than anything physical.

"I'm healthy, I exercise, I eat well, but I think more than anything it has to do with attitude," Jane told Extra at a book signing this week in New York City for her new title.

Jane was promoting her newest tome Prime Time: Love; Health; Sex; Fitness; Friendship; Spirit. She offers her advice and insight into ageing happily and gracefully.

Getting on in age does not strike fear in Jane.

"The old way of looking at age is an arch, you're born... you peak. But the new way of looking at it is [like] a staircase - you ascend upward," said Jane.

Although she is climbing the spiritual life staircase, Jane is not immune to her physical desires. She is still interested in having her body reflect how she feels internally and she has recently undergone plastic surgery.

"I chose, last year, to have bags removed from under my eyes. I don't feel tired and I wanted to look more how I feel. But it's a very personal choice -- the trick is to not overdo it."

Jane's new book is in bookstores now. (C) Cover Media
