Actress,writer,political activist and fitness guru Jane Fonda will be celebrating her 74th birthday today.

Jane Fonda was Born on 21st December 1937, in New York City, New York to actor Henry Fonda and socialite  She attended Vassar College, left to study art in Paris, returned to New York to dabble in modeling, and then began a stage career.

Her screen debut was in 'Tall Story' . She has won an Oscars for the best actress in 'Klute' and 'Coming Home' . One of her finest moments came when she produced and appeared in 'On Golden Pond'. In 2005 she published an autobiography, My Life So Far, and returned to the film screen with Monster-in-Law. Fonda also played the title character in the film 'Georgia Rule' with Lindsay Lohan.

Her recent movie project is the forthcoming indie film ‘Peace, Love & Misunderstanding’, directed by ‘Driving Miss Daisy's Bruce Beresford. Fonda plays the mother of Catherine Keener, who the 73-year-old described as "talented and original". Her latest release was a French-German movie "And If We All Lived Together".
