Jay-Z and Coldplay plan New Years Eve show

20th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jay-Z and Coldplay are reportedly planning a lucrative New Years Eve concert in Las Vegas.

The platinum-selling rap star is believed to be organising a concert with British rock group Coldplay to welcome 2011 at the luxurious Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas resort.

It has been reported the deal is worth millions, and entrance will be invitation only. Insiders have also claimed that Jay-Zs singer wife Beyonc Knowles is planning to play a separate concert in the US city on December 31 so she can be near her husband.

Organisers have spent millions securing the acts. The word is that Beyonc is now looking for a Vegas New Year's gig so she will be in town with Jay," a source told the New York Post.

The concert is the brainchild of event planner to the stars Colin Cowie, and will feature separate performances by Jay-Z and Chris Martin's band Coldplay before they appear on stage together.

Chris first collaborated with Jay-Z in 2006 on the rap stars album Kingdom Come, and they also played tour dates together in the UK last year. (C) Cover Media
