(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jay-Z says he would have robbed Chris Martin if they’d met when he was a teenager.

The 40-year-old hip-hop mogul is now good friends with the Coldplay frontman, but knows things would have been different if they had met when he was growing up. Jay started dealing drugs on the streets of Marcy in New York when he was just 13 years old and was immersed in a life of crime by the time he turned 16.

Chris is a pale, thin, Englishman and Jay is certain he would have at least mugged him if he had wandered into his neighbourhood.

"He couldn't walk through Marcy. I was a different person then. I wasn't open to the world and to cultures,” Jay told British newspaper The Daily Mirror.

"I would have been, 'Yo! Who are you? Give me your money.' You couldn't have a guy like Chris walking through Marcy. He'd have to get robbed. At best."

Jay and his wife Beyoncé Knowles are very close to Chris and his wife Gwyneth Paltrow. They love spending time with Chris and Gwyneth’s children, who call the rapper “Uncle Jay”.

"They are a really cool family with beautiful kids, who happen to be good at the jobs they do,” Jay said. “Do I want kids? Of course.” (C) Cover Media
