Lindsay Lohan released from rehab

25th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan has been released from her court-ordered rehab after spending 22 days in treatment.

The actress was sentenced to 90 days in jail and 90 days in prison after she was found to have violated the terms of her 2007 conviction for Driving Under the Influence (DUI). She spent 13 days at the Century Regional Detention Center in Lynwood California, and entered treatment at the UCLA Medical Center earlier this month when she was released.

“She has been released from inpatient rehab,” Lindsay’s civil lawyer Ed McPherson confirmed.

Lindsay is reportedly now part of the establishment’s outpatient program. “The outpatient program is just like the inpatient program, except you get to go home at night,” a source told People magazine.

Lindsay signed discharge papers at the UCLA Medical Center yesterday according to RadarOnline, and was then whisked away out the back door. A chauffeur-driven car was waiting for her, with decoy cars used to leave a false trail for paparazzi. Lindsay is believed to have phoned her mother Dina as soon as she left rehab.

It is thought Lindsay was allowed to check out early after doctors agreed her problems were not as bad as initially suspected. “They have already concluded her psychiatric problems are not nearly as severe as first thought. In addition, the doctors do not believe the drug dependency issues are as severe as first thought,” reports website TMZ.

It has been suggested Lindsay may have been misdiagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), which she takes medication for. This could have caused her behaviour to have altered.

Dina has long claimed Judge Marsha Revel, who has since left Lindsay’s case, was overly-harsh when sentencing her daughter. Lindsay was found to have not been to enough alcohol-education classes, but her family have maintained she thought she was sticking to her order.

This was the 24-year-old’s fourth stint in a treatment facility. (C) Cover Media
