(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jay-Z has asked Rihanna to take time off from her hectic schedule as hes worried shes working too hard.

The American rapper is Rihannas mentor, and the man that signed her to Def Jam Recordings at the beginning of her career. The two are very close, and Jay-Z has reportedly become concerned Rihanna is pushing herself too hard at the moment.

She recently had bronchitis and laryngitis, but still managed show-stopping performances at the Grammy and BRIT Awards. She has also been working hard promoting her album Loud, and Jay-Z is convinced she needs to take some time for herself.

Rihannas professional, works hard and stays away from drugs and alcohol, but Jay wants her to be careful, a source told Look. He told her to take a holiday for a week shes been working flat out and needs to get over the bronchitis, which hes sure shes developed as a result of stress. He told her shell be alright, but to keep her head down.

Jay-Z is also said to be concerned Rihanna may be considering meeting up with her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown. Chris was sentenced to five years' probation and six months' community labour after admitting punching, biting and choking his Rihanna in his car in 2009. He was also ordered to stay away from her at industry events, but recently had the restraining order altered to a less harsh one.
