Jayantabhai ki confused story
Every time Vivek Oberoi turns a 'gangster', he leaves a lasting impression on your mind as the actor does a pretty good job as a goon. Be it his debut film 'Company' or 'Shootout at Lokhandwala', Vivek performs the role to perfection. But the role should also be in a good film that will make him stand out in the lot.
Here comes yet another film where he plays a gangster, but unlike the aforementioned films, this one has no potential to do any wonders to his down trotted career.
'Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story' is basically about two people as different as chalk and cheese falling in love with each other. While Vivek is a goon, Neha Sharma plays the 'girl-next-door' character dreaming of making it big in the city of dreams that is Mumbai. The film also has another prime character who plays Neha's father and is a villain of sorts. Kind by heart and strict by nature, Neha's onscreen father becomes another stereotypical character in the film.
The film has nothing new to offer and we wonder why an acclaimed producer like Kumar Taurani would pump in his money into a story which has no novelty factor to excite audiences enough to go to theatres to watch the same.
Vivek Oberoi as always leaves you impressed with his antics and we so wish, the lad who was once the brightest star of Bollywood gets some decent films that can boost his career to a new high. Though he puts in hard efforts to shine, there's not much scope for him to attract attention for his performance in this film.
Neha who has done quite a few films till now shows signs of improvement but has nothing extraordinary as an actor.
The film could have passed off as a one-time watch tag, however, the mediocre direction by Vinnil Markan is disappointing as well. Music of the film boasts of no good numbers.
All in all the film doesn't stand at par expectations however, die hard Vivek Oberoi fans can catch it for once.
