Jean Dujardin feels like he's been sitting in a "pleasant hot bath" since winning his Oscar.
The star scooped the coveted best actor accolade at the 84th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday for his turn in The Artist. The French homage to silent film took home five golden statues in total, including best picture and best director for Michel Hazanavicius.
Jean is feeling blissful following his victory at the prestigious awards ceremony.
"I felt like I'm in a hot bath and I don't really want to get out of it! It is really pleasant," he told French radio station RTL.
Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman presented Jean with the award. The French star says the whole experience felt like an out-of-body one.
"I felt as if I was 350 kilos and it's like a little death," he described. "I went out of my own body. I felt really numb. It lasted for three seconds and then, there's the move - you stand up and you want to go [on stage]."
Jean beat off stiff competition from Hollywood actors George Clooney and Brad Pitt to scoop the accolade. The 39-year-old star rubbished claims he left his other nominees in the shade.
"I don't want to see it like this because, first of all, they are very, very elegant, very friendly, very warming," he gushed. "You can't compare yourself to George Clooney and Brad Pitt. These guys have such unbelievable careers.
"It's just at one point you have people who vote for a movie, an actor in a movie and that's it. I'm not saying to myself I scoffed at Brad Pitt and George Clooney'. Or I would say it to myself alone to feel good!" he laughed.
Jean feels overwhelmed by the whole experience.
"This is something that happens once in your life. It's a rollercoaster. You have really strong moments. Sometimes you don't want to go anymore, you just want to go back home because you're saying to yourself I don't get it. It's not my job. I feel like a rep of myself and I think it's unhealthy' and at the same time But you're insane, people love the movie, go on, go on.'
"It's a heavy campaign. It's like a world cup."
The Artist has been victorious throughout this year's awards season, taking home four Independent Spirit Awards on and winning three Golden Globe Awards in January.
