Jennifer Lawrence doesn't like "bland families".
The Hunger Games actress had a laid-back upbringing in the American city of Louisville, Kentucky. Despite her astronomical success, the Oscar-nominated actress has matured into what she considers a normal 22-year-old thanks to her colourful childhood.
"Bland families, urh. I hate them," Jennifer explained to British Vogue magazine.
"[Mine] was scary, sweary and loud, where everyone has a bit of a drinking problem and everyone screams at each other, but it was real fun."
The star opened up about the experiences which have helped her stay grounded as she grows as a Hollywood actress. The star used to get roughed around by her two older brothers and then, as an older child, would muck in to help her parents Gary and Karen run a children's camp on their farm.
"They used to throw their soup at me and drag me around the house by my hair and then pretend they didn't," Jennifer remembered. "[There was also camp work] which basically meant strapping lots of little kids to tractors and cleaning up five-year-olds' poop."
