(Cover) - EN Movies - Jennifer Lawrence says Oscar season is "bizarre".
The 20-year-old actress starred in 2010 independent drama Winter's Bone for which she received critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for best actress.
Jennifer says the new-found attention was overwhelming ahead of the awards season earlier this year.
"Oscar season was surreal and bizarre. It's the biggest thing that can happen to an actor and then it's also. They call your name at 5 o'clock in the morning on the news and it's not your life anymore. I had a schedule emailed to me instantly," she recalled in an interview with Marie Claire magazine.
Jennifer says although the prestigious ceremony itself was incredibly fun, the events leading up to it were "stressful". The American star was baffled by the amount of preparation that went into the big night's proceedings.
"The Oscars itself was the most fun night but all those shows leading up to it had so much stress. Like this dress and that dress I felt like a politician on a campaign trail. It was just so exhausting but you can't complain because, you know, there are kids dying of malaria and an Oscar nominee is complaining she's tired!" she said.
Jennifer says her Oscar nod changed how people perceived her. The beauty admits she questioned peoples' motives when they started noticing her for the first time.
"People started talking to me differently and I couldn't stand that. I'd go to parties where I used to be invisible, now everyone is watching and listening. There was a weird element and I wondered whether I wanted to be a director or just do indie films," she explained. (C) Cover Media
