Jeremy Renner: Bar fight lies are lame

6th January 2012

Jeremy Renner feels flooded by "an avalanche of lies."

The 40-year-old actor was rumoured to have been injured in a brutal bar fight in Phuket, Thailand this week.

Jeremy and his representatives have completely discounted claims that he was in any way involved in the altercation.

Jeremy is stunned by how fast the speculation spread.

"That's all an avalanche of lies," Jeremy told Extra. "I'm fine. I just happened to be in a bar where a nasty bar fight occurred. It's lame how I've been thrown in the mix."

Jeremy is currently in Southeast Asia filming The Bourne Legacy in the Philippines.

The star is enjoying his time on set.

"I'm smiling and sun-soaked, working in Manila," Jeremy said.

Jeremy had been relaxing at the Rachada Pub in Phuket when the fight broke out.

Six employees at the bar attacked and seriously injured two local men while the actor was enjoying a drink.

Vorasit Issara, the General Manager of the Siri Panwa Resort and Maj Gen Chonasit were stabbed by the assailants.

Vorasit suffered a wound to his neck and he was also impaled in the stomach with a knife.

The six men in question were arrested following the attack.
