(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jessica Simpson has been showing off her new engagement ring.

A representative has confirmed pop singer Jessica and former American football player Eric Johnson are set to marry. The blonde star has now been spotted flashing what is thought to be her engagement ring.

At the weekend Jessica made an appearance at Dillard's department store in Kansas City as she was promoting the Jessica Simpson Collection.

According to People magazine, Eric proposed with a three-stone ring that features a central ruby flanked by two diamonds from the Los Angeles based jewellers Neil Lane.

Jessica and Eric hit it off immediately after they were introduced by mutual friends back in May. The couple have had a wonderful whirlwind romance so far, and celebrated Jessicas 30th birthday together on a romantic trip to Italy.

Jessica was previously married to pop star Nick Lachey, with the pair splitting in 2005 after three years of marriage. Nick himself has recently become engaged too to television host Vanessa Minnillo.

Jessica was thrilled to hear of her ex-husbands upcoming nuptials, insisting she couldnt be more happy for him upon hearing the news. (C) Cover Media
