The 30-year-old singer has been personally invited by Americas First Lady Michelle Obama to sing at the patriotic event which is being held in Denver, Colorado, on April 13.

Jessica has revealed she is thrilled at the prospect of singing live, and was equally excited to have been asked by the First Lady herself.

"[The First Lady] asked me to sing for the troops. That's a huge honour for me," she told Us magazine. "Just to be there and show my support and say thank you."

The stunning star will perform at a Rockies vs. Mets baseball on Wednesday, as part of a two-day event to honour the countrys military service. Michelle, along with Dr. Jill Biden, has devised a national two-day tour which aims to highlight the work of Americans in the military.

Jessicas participation in the event is not the first time she has been involved in celebrating American troops. In October of last year, the stunning star visited soldiers aboard the USS Harry S. Truman during a visit to the Persian Gulf. The songstress signed autographs, ate meals with the crew, and performed in the ship's hangar bay. The star gushed about her experience with the members onboard.

"I've been on many USO trips and I always enjoy sitting and talking with service members. To be on board Truman has been a blessing. I've met so many amazing people, and everybody has been so welcoming and made me feel like I'm at home. I can't express enough how much I appreciate the sacrifices you make for our country, she previously said. (C) Cover Media
