Simon Cowell urged to slow down

11th April 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Simon Cowells mother has reportedly demanded he cut down his work schedule as she is worried hes damaging his health.

The music mogul is launching UK talent contest The X Factor in America this year, and is also involved with Britains Got Talent and the US version of the programme. His father Eric died after having a heart attack and the stars mother Julie is said to be concerned something similar may happen to her son.

Simon's mum is freaking out. His family think he's doing too much and are telling him to slow down before his workload seriously damages his health, a source told British newspaper The Sun.

There's no point being the richest man in the cemetery. The family are protective of Simon and saw what happened to his father.

It remains unknown how involved Simon, 51, will be with the British X Factor, as he may now be able to fit it and the American version into his schedule. There are rumours he will work behind-the-scenes this time round, which Julie apparently thinks is a good idea.

Simon's a workaholic but he'd need a time machine to be physically able to appear on both the American and UK versions of X Factor, all of the time, a source added to the publication.

His priority this year is the launch of the American version.

Simon has previously spoken of the deep impact his fathers death in 1999 had one him, saying during a TV interview it was the worst day of his life. (C) Cover Media
