The 25-year-old actress portrays Vanessa Abrams on American teen programme Gossip Girl, which also stars Leighton Meester and Blake Lively. Although she is now instantly recognisable, Jessica insists being famous hasnt really impacted her life. She still shops for bargains, and has several cheap scents she loves.

I spray perfume on the back of my neck. I dont know if its when you go in to hug someone but everyone always comments on it no matter what perfume I have on whether its my favourite Stella McCartney or a $3 bottle from the drug store, she admitted.

Gossip Girl is renowned for the lavish outfits the female characters wear, and has one of the most bulging costume wardrobes of any show. Jessica enjoys getting to wear exciting fashion for her role, but admits she is far removed from her character in real life.

She has only just started wear high heels, revealing even now she only dons them for a special occasion. At heart Im just a simple jeans and T-shirt kind of girl, she told ASOS magazine. I used to not wearing heels at all, but the last four years have changed that. Im big on comfort now but I will sacrifice it once in a while for a good shoe.
