Joe Jonas soldiers on' at show

11th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Joe Jonas was reportedly "pelted" with mini basketballs at a show in New York.

The 21-year-old singer got a frosty reception in Brooklyn on Wednesday night, according to a source. The star, who is currently pursuing a solo career after taking a break from performing with his band the Jonas Brothers, failed to impress audience members at the Paper magazine party.

According to reports, the crowds "pelted him with mini-basketballs and greeted his performance with a mixture of derision and stony silence".

Joe, who wants to pursue a more grown-up sound away from his previous Disney attempts, opened the show at the House of Vans in New York before rapper Swizz Beatz took to the stage.

The jeering is said to have begun when Joe graced the stage with his four backup singers to perform five songs from his new album, including his current single See No More.

According to the New York Daily News, the star was targeted with "green Nerf-style mini-basketballs that had been handed out to partygoers".

The source also added that Joe "soldiered on like a true pro" despite the unsavoury reception.

After his performance, Joe headed backstage to watch Swizz's show. (C) Cover Media
