John Abraham was away from the limelight in the recent past. But the actor is back now with the film 'Parmanu-The Story of Pokhran' helmed by Abhishek Sharma. He shared a photo of the clapboard to announce this news and captioned it as, "Day 1.. Parmanu..The Story of Pokhran. Our biggest test ever!!! @johnabrahament @kriarj #Parmanu."

The film is based on the nuclear experiment carried out at Pokhran in 1998. Earlier John was quoted saying as, "I have never been in a hurry to produce films and have been searching for subjects that are engaging... stories that resonate with the current socio-political and economic mood of the country .This film fits in perfectly with my pursuit, and I am also happy to start my association with Prernaa and Arjun."

The film is slated for a release in December this year. Apart from this, John is also producing a Marathi film 'Savita Damodar Paranjpe' which stars famous Marathi actors in it.
