14th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The Jonas Brothers have cancelled a Mexico concert over security worries.

The American pop/rock band, which comprises of siblings Joe, 21, Nick, 18, and 22-year-old Kevin, were set to perform for fans in the city of Monterrey.

However, following a series of unfortunate events in the city, the show has been annulled, concert promoter Live Nation has said. It was due to take place on October 21 and Mexican fans had been waiting in eager anticipation to see their idols.

It is believed the decision is for the best, as many had feared for the safety of not only the Jonas brothers, but their fans too. Despite being the wealthiest city in Mexico, a recent spate of drug-related violence has made Monterrey more dangerous. This year alone more than 400 people have been killed in Nuevo Leon, the state where Monterrey is situated.

The bands supporters havent taken the news of the cancellation well, with some taking to social networking website Facebook to beg the band to announce a new date as soon as possible. The October show was announced five months ago, meaning loyal fans had been looking forward to it for a long time. (C) Cover Media
