(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Joseph Gordon-Levitt is set to star in The Dark Knight Rises, according to reports.

The 29-year-old American movie stars career has been going from strength to strength recently. He received praise for his role in 2009 romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer and impressed in last years science-fiction thriller Inception, which was directed by Christopher Nolan.

Joseph looks set to team up with Christopher again, as Deadline New York reports the actor is in talks to join the cast of upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises.

It has not yet been revealed who Joseph will portray in the film, although the report suggests "he will be in the movie when Nolan starts production this spring".

News of Josephs possible role comes just weeks after the revelation Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway will portray Selina Kyle in the film, whose alter-ego is the seductive Catwoman. It has also been announced that British actor Tom Hardy will play villain Bane. Heartthrob Christian Bale will reprise his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman having already starred in Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

The latest movie in the franchise is due to be released in July 2012. (C) Cover Media
