(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Hailee Steinfeld says Matt Damon is like a father to her.

The 14-year-old actress has received a best supporting actress Oscar nomination for her role in True Grit, which is directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. In the movie she plays fiery teenager Mattie Ross, who is hell-bent on avenging her fathers death. Matt Damon, Josh Brolin and Jeff Bridges also appear in the film and Hailee formed a close bond with them when they were on set.

"They look out for me. They're all like fathers to me, really, Hailee said of her co-stars, before revealing they all got in touch with her after she received her Oscar nomination. I got an e-mail right away from Josh, who I've been keeping in touch with a lot. Jeff called me. I got an e-mail from Matt and Joel called me.

Hailee admits she is still coming to terms with her success, saying she never thought her career would take off so soon. She is currently deciding what to wear to the Academy Awards ceremony later this month, having been inundated with glamorous gowns from top designers.

Hailee is looking forward to getting dressed up because she spent so much time climbing trees and jumping in rivers for the film. The star relished the tomboy role and couldnt believe how much work went on behind the scenes and before the cameras started rolling.

"It's kinda funny, because when I first wanted to get into acting, it was partly because of the fact that I thought it was so glamorous, the whole Hollywood world. And then my first big job, I'm sitting in the make-up chair and they're putting fake dirt on my face, she laughed in an interview with USA Today. "Then I go from being told 'Don't worry, the glamorous part's coming. There's so much to it! I definitely have a different appreciation for what everybody goes through." (C) Cover Media
