Joshua Jackson has a "never say never" attitude to marriage.
The actor and his girlfriend Diane Kruger have been plagued by rumours that they are engaged after Joshua reportedly presented the stunning actress with an "engagement gift" recently.
However, Diane who is divorced from actor and director Guillaume Canet - has always insisted she has no intention of marrying again.
Joshua has now addressed the speculation, hinting that the pair could tie the knot in the future.
"It's important for the people that it's important for, but neither one of us are particularly religious so I don't think that there's any particular push," Jackson told E! Online at an event in Los Angeles.
"But never say never."
The couple have been dating since 2006 and rumours were widespread that 33-year-old Joshua had proposed after he snapped up a $45,000 necklace at a fundraising event in Monte Carlo last month.
Joshua has laughed off claims he gave the necklace to Diane as an engagement gift.
"I made a horrible mistake at an auction by raising my hand when I shouldn't have, and it started a bunch of rumours that were very, very costly," he joked. "We're not engaged."
While they have no plans to wed at the moment, Joshua has revealed they are open to starting a family.
He joked that the pair are happy to keep practising at having a baby until they are successful.
"Kids are one of those things that kind of happen, aren't they?" he smiled. "Certainly we're working on it if that's what you're asking."
