Julia Roberts feels responsibility to her movie roles

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Julia Roberts says playing real-life characters in movies is scary.

The 42-year-old actress is considered one of Hollywoods most talented stars, and has regularly portrayed real women in movies such as Erin Brockovich and her latest project Eat Pray Love.

Julia famously won an Oscar for her portrayal of feminist icon Erin in the 2000 movie, and in Eat Pray Love she plays author Elizabeth Gilberts character in an adaptation of the writers best-selling memoir of the same name.

Julia says she always finds real characters much tougher to get to grips with because people have something to compare her performance to. While the actress says she likes to make her depictions realistic, she says she also hopes to bring something of herself to the screen.

Its scary isnt it? Its a responsibility. You just want to take great care in the person youre portraying... bring a respect of who you think they are, she said.

In the movie Julias character travels around the world visiting Italy, India and Bali on a voyage of self-discovery, finding love in her final destination with a Brazilian man portrayed by Spanish heartthrob Javier Bardem.

Despite visiting numerous exotic locations in the making of the film, Julia insists there is no place like the US, where she lives with her husband Daniel Moder and their children, five-year-old twins Hazel and Phinnaeus and Henry, three.

Home. Thats my favourite spot, she beamed, when asked where her ideal holiday location would be.

The actress also spoke about her fondness for the actor Brad Pitt, who produced Eat Pray Love. She revealed Brad is very pleasant to work for and always encourages the cast with friendly e-mails.

Hes great. He leaves us all alone and then you just get the occasional e-mail thats encouraging and sweet, she enthused. (C) Cover Media
