Ryan Reynolds: I felt tortured in new movie

27th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ryan Reynolds has admitted feeling anxiety-ridden and uncomfortable while making his latest film.

The 33-year-old Canadian actor filmed many of his scenes for Buried which is set in a desert in Iraq - while trapped inside a 6ft coffin. He says the experience of being confined in such a small space had a deep effect on him both physically and mentally.

My role in Buried is totally an actors dream! He laughed in a magazine interview. I was in seven different coffins I think I had about two inches either side of my head. Each coffin had its own awful purpose to torture my character in some way.

It made me feel deeply uneasy, anxiety-ridden and uncomfortable.

After shooting had wrapped, Ryan - who is married to Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson decided to take a break from work and escape to the beach for a relaxing break. However, he quickly regretted his hasty decision to spend more time in a sandy environment.

As soon as I got there I thought, Great now Im stuck in the f**king sand again, I made a bad decision there! Ryan joked. What I really needed is to be in the most wide-open meadow and enjoy that for a few hours. (C) Cover Media
