25th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Justin Bieber is giving fans the opportunity to appear in his new 3D movie.

The 16-year-old Canadian pop star announced he would be starring in a film that tells the story of his rise to fame earlier this year. The movie is due out on Valentine’s Day 2011 and Bieber wants as many of his fans in it as possible.

The film’s director Jon Chu announced a 24-hour casting call via Twitter yesterday afternoon. Fans were invited to visit Justin’s website and upload a video of themselves singing along to Justin’s That Should Be Me or an image of their best “U Smile”, which is the title of another of Justin’s hits.

It is not known how the chosen fans will take part in the movie.

Within minutes, the huge number of fans visiting Justin’s website crashed the site’s server, leaving technical support officers scrambling to get it back online. Justin soon posted a message on his own Twitter account apologising for the issue.

"Sorry u guys crashed the server!!" he tweeted. "Haha. It's back up now!! Get in MY MOVIE!!! U got less than 24 hours!! (sic),” Justin wrote.

Chu recently discussed the upcoming movie at length, saying it would be an amazing “underdog story” that everyone would love. (C) Cover Media
