Endemol India Private Limited, the name behind TV Shows like 'Fear Factor' and 'Bigg Boss', is now all set to start its inaugural venture in the Tamil film industry. The production house has joined hands with Nemichand Jhabhak Productions, and has decided to compose the remake of the Bollywood blockbuster ‘Kahaani’.

‘Kahaani’  is a thriller directed and co-written by Sujoy Ghosh, starring Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee and Nawazuddin Siddqui in the lead roles. The story revolves around a pregnant woman Vidya Bagchi (played by Vidya Balan), who comes to Kolkata in search for her husband. The movie received rave reviews, and collected a 100 crore revenue at the box office.

In spite of the stiff competition, Endemol has managed to obtain the remake rights of the film. With a perfect movie in hand, Endemol plans on getting everything right. CEO-Endemol India, Deepak Dhar said “Kahaani is our first venture in south and we wanted a local player, who understands our mindset and the film business in south but at the same time has a credible production bandwidth, who could partner with us. We are happy that we found these in our Co-production partner V Hitesh Jhabak and we hope to take this association further for our future business in film production”

All the who’s who of the Tamil industry are being approached for the remake. A formal announcement is expected soon.
