Friendship revisited!!
It's not everyday that we come across a movie that is entertaining as well as touching. Abhishek Kapoor's 'Kai Po Che!', the screen adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's novel 'The 3 Mistakes of my life' is one such movie.
It takes you on a soulful journey with the three lead protagonists who happen to be best buddies since childhood. The dream of setting up a Cricket Academy together, takes them through various ups and downs in their personal relationships, owing to a natural calamity and political influences.
Kapoor weaves the story interestingly onscreen and should be commended for his endeavor. His film 'Rock On' also revolved around the lives of three friends and this film too holds the same magic, however, this one's completely different.
Abhishek had clearly mentioned that no big stars wanted to work in the film. Well, he sure didn't need them. Sushant Singh Rajput, Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh make you feel that you are watching honest actors rather than a few good looking people doing some unrealistic antics. The three shine in their respective roles.
Yadav, who is a couple of films old makes a good transition from his previous work by getting into the nerve of the character. Amit Sadh makes an impressive debut. He speaks with his eyes, is composed and sure to make it big in the industry. However, it's Sushant who has the most potential. His onscreen persona takes the film to another level. He is the star. Amrita Puri is refreshing, bringing in the romantic angle.
The music of the film is soothing and will be remembered for long. However, it is Hitesh Sonik's background score that truly impresses. The cinematography and screenplay too make the film more interesting to watch.
The Gujarati accent, early millennium mannerisms and detailing are also the high points of the film.
'Kai Po Che!' is a Gujarati term that means 'I have cut it' and Abhishek with his team has definitely cut a great picture. DO WATCH IT!!!
