After proving her mettle as a filmmaker with 'English Vinglish', Gauri Shinde was in news for her next. 

In her debut venture she worked with veteran Sridevi and it was reported that she was looking forward to work with another diva. 

Gauri was keen to have Kajol on board and the dusky actress too was eager to work with Gauri as she liked her work in her debut film. 

But apparently things didn't work out as the two ambitious women were too strong-headed for each other. 

They both are temperamental in nature and their working together may have caused some friction on set. 

Hence, the filmmaker has decided to go for an actress who is less talented than Kajol but more amenable. 

Both women refused to comment.
