Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone recently won a best actress award for her performance in 'Happy New Year' and she dedicated the award to Kangana Ranaut for her performance in 'Queen'.

Kangana's performance in Vikas Bahl's Queen (2014) got widespread acclaim, and Deepika too earlier had publicly confessed about her fondness for the film.

"I think she was outstanding. What a beautiful film… it's one of the best films I have seen in the longest time andits outstanding," Deepika had said then.

While she was chosen as the best actress in the popular category, the actress bravely dedicated it to Kangana.

"Thank you for this award, but I believe that this year belonged to Kangana. So, Kangana, this one's for you," said Deepika while accepting the trophy.

Kangana, who appreciates her gestures, however stated that she would've preferred if she complimented her personally.

"Yes, I heard about that (Deepika dedicating her award to her), but I hope someday, she would tell me in person what she feels about my work. I would appreciate that a lot more," she said.
