Till date the only Kapoor heir who has been a vital part of Ganesh Utsav celebrations that have been carried out by generations at RK Studios at Chembur has been Ranbir Kapoor, but now it his cousin Kareena Kapoor, who too will join the celebrations this year. 

The ritual of celebrating Ganesh Utsav was started by Raj Kapoor, and after his death, his sons Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor kept the tradition alive with Ranbir joining them from the last few years. 

And this year is special, as the tradition completes 60 glorious years. Hence, Kareena wants to join the family legacy and be a part of the pride too. 

However, her participation at the Ganesh celebrations might be taken as a promotional venture for her film 'Heroine' that releases just around the event. 

Reportedly, she might even visit Lalbaugcha Raja to seek blessings for her impending wedding and her film's success.
