(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Bosworth felt as if she was spiralling into madness while shooting her new movie.
The actress plays Lynne in Warrior's Way, which is out in the UK and America next month. The film is about an assassin who has to take refuge in a small town after refusing a job, and was shot in New Zealand.
Although she found the country beautiful, American-born Kate struggled with being such a long distance from her home. New Zealand is so far away from everything, she explained. Sometimes we would just look around at these crazy costumes on this empty stage and be like, 'Well, we're here together.' You can spiral into a little bit of madness sometimes. I know I did."
Kate worked with first time director Sngmoo Lee on the film, which she enjoyed. She had very strict ideas about what how she wanted her character to look, and was pleased that she was listened to.
The star explained getting the physical look of a character right is essential to her, and helps her get to grips with the role she has to play.
The only head-butt I had on the look of my character was the hair. I wanted her to be a redhead, and I was hell-bent on that, she explained. I won that battle. Its very distinct. I had such a romantic idea of her, and I thought it really worked. It really helped define her for me. I know that sounds strange, but with the physicality, sometimes you can get hooked on something thats important. (C) Cover Media
