(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kanye West has criticised Taylor Swift for not defending him after the VMAs incident.
Taylor was famously on the receiving end of the rapper Kanyes tirade at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) after he stormed the stage during her acceptance speech for Best Female Music Video claiming R&B star Beyonc Knowles was the rightful winner.
The hip-hop stars actions caused a huge backlash against him, with even US President Barack Obama criticising Kanyes behaviour, and now Kanye has revealed he felt disappointed with Taylor for not helping redeem his reputation.
The musician was speaking at a New York concert which was celebrating the successful release of his latest album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
"Taylor never came to my defence in any interview," the 33-year-old told fans. "And [she] rode the wave and rode it and rode it."
Famous faces present at the gig included music mogul P. Diddy, Spike Lee, and Ivanka Trump. Kanye received cheers when he proclaimed he would have stayed on stage even longer had he not been under the influence of alcohol.
"If I wasn't drunk, I woulda been on stage longer! he bellowed.
Kanye previously made a public apology to 20-year-old Swift on the social-networking website Twitter. The outspoken star had said he didnt think she was responsible for the backlash he received.
"She had nothing to do with my issues with award shows. She had no idea what hit her. She's justa lil girl with dreams like the rest of us. She deserves the apology more than anyone (sic), wrote Kanye. (C) Cover Media
