Kate Hudson discusses honest relationship

22nd March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Hudson says her relationship with Matt Bellamy is based on all the great stuff like respect and honesty.

The Hollywood star began dating the Muse frontman last year after meeting him at a music festival, and they have been inseparable ever since. The couple are expecting a baby later this year and while they have no plans to marry, Kate insists their romance couldnt be stronger.

Respect, honesty, a full partnership, compromise all the great stuff. I think thats what makes love last, Kate replied when asked why the relationship works.

Kate has seven-year-old son Ryder with her ex-husband Chris Robinson. She insists she doesnt only date rock stars Chris is in band The Black Crowes although she is in awe of what a wonderful musician Matt is.

The 31-year-old is looking forward to being a mother again and thinks Matt will make a great father. This pregnancy has been easier than the first time round, although Kate who doesnt know the sex of her baby - is worried about giving birth as Ryder is so keen to have a brother.

This pregnancy is different. I was sicker, more tired and Im craving all sorts of different foods than I did with Ryder like fruit and Caesar salad. Id forgotten what it was like to be pregnant, then all the memories came flooding back, she laughed to Look.

Ryder is really excited and definitely wants a brother.

Kate and Chris have remained on good terms for the sake of their son, although she admits it hasnt always been easy. She doesnt speak about why her marriage to Chris didnt work out, although the star explained once Ryder was born her outlook on life changed.

My ex its as much work as the marriage [was]! Hopefully, you marry people you really respect and like. The foundation of actually liking and respecting that person helps. Hes got his family who are lovely and its more about timing and scheduling. That becomes the focus, she said.

[After Ryder was born] I was looking for a different kind of love, because all of a sudden my child became my priority Im not a psychologist but for me [love] became more adult and I wasnt looking for the passionate crazy love. (C) Cover Media
